Business Advisory Council

In 2007, OCA Sacramento established a Business Advisory Council (BAC) to be a vital link between OCA Sacramento and the business community.  
Mission:
The council's mission is to increase interest for OCA's objectives within the business community while giving business community valuable insights into the needs of the Asian American community.

Objectives:
Comprised of representatives from Sole Proprietorship to representatives of Fortune 500 companies, the objectives of the BAC are:
  • Foster principles of diversity.
  • Nurture mutually beneficial business opportunities.
  • Increase awareness of the APA culture and issues in the workplace.
BAC Programs:
  • MAAP: Mentor Asian American Professionals.
  • B3: Build, Breakthrough and Believe - Leadership. Development Program
  • Business Education Summit Conference.
  • Women's Spring Luncheon and Market Faire for API Women in Business.
Advisory Council includes:
  • A strong belief in equality.
  • be part of a group that help shapes OCA operations, programs, & strategy.
  • Access to over 1,000 professionals doing business in our community.
  • Increase diversity in the work place.
  • Opportunities to work with other BAC partners on issues that impact their operations & the APA community.
  • Networking opportunities.
  • Help members reach out to APA communities at the local and national level.

    When OCA Founder Kung-Lee Wang formed the OCA Business Advisory Council in 1980, it was an expansion of his vision that OCA’s mission could be furthered advanced by creating strong and lasting partnerships with America's corporate sector. 


    Each year, companies have an opportunity to nominate one of their own Asian Pacific American employees for their accomplishments and contributions. Over the years, the awards have come to also include recognition to one recipient for Community Service and to one company as the Corporate Partner of the Year.
