Business Advisory Council
In 2007, OCA Sacramento established a Business Advisory Council (BAC) to be a vital link between OCA Sacramento and the business community.
The Council's mission is to increase interest for OCA's objectives within the business community while providing business leaders with valuable insights into the contributions, experiences, and needs of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
Comprised of representatives from Sole Proprietorships to representatives of Fortune 500 companies, the objectives of the BAC are:
-
Promote equal opportunity and inclusive business practices that benefit all.
-
Nurture mutually beneficial business opportunities across all sectors of the community.
-
Increase awareness of Asian American and Pacific Islander contributions and experiences in the workplace..
Advisory Council includes:
-
A strong belief in equality.
-
Be part of a group that help shapes OCA operations, programs, & strategy.
-
Access to over 1,000 professionals doing business in our community.
-
Opportunities to collaborate with BAC partners on matters affecting business operations and the broader community.
-
Networking opportunities.
-
Expand your reach into Asian American and Pacific Islander communities locally and nationally.
Benefits of Joining the BAC
Business partners benefit from an array of personal, professional, and community development opportunities through their involvement in the BAC. Partners collaborate with other talented and outstanding business and community leaders on projects that will enhance the communities we serve and your business's reputation.
When OCA Founder Kung-Lee Wang formed the OCA Business Advisory Council in 1980, it was an expansion of his vision that OCA’s mission could be furthered advanced by creating strong and lasting partnerships with America's corporate sector.
Each year, companies have an opportunity to nominate one of their own employees for their accomplishments and contributions. Over the years, the awards have come to also include recognition to one recipient for Community Service and to one company as the Corporate Partner.
